02.11.08 League Champions brushed aside by Bridge at the Gyle
Today saw Fountainbridge take on Craigmount in the League Cup at the Gyle, in a competition that neither side could progress in. But you wouldn't have realised that from the match that followed as Craigmount worked hard with a man short, but Fountainbridge eventually ran out comfortable winners against a team that have had a difficult start to the season following last years success. Keith Alexander was on his usual form with 4 goals and Tony Powch also grabbed one.

26.10.08 Experimental Bridge side suffer narrow defeat
Fountainbridge took on Fa'side in a match that had little meaning as neither side could progress in the League Cup, what this did mean was that manager John Gray could experiment with the team lineup. Fearn and Leslie were moved into defence and Irving and Davidson into midfield, and Mark Smith played as a striker in a match that saw the Bridge eventually lose 2-1 with Lee Davidson notching his first for the club.

12.10.08 Bridge defeated heavily by ICAPB
Fountainbridge today went down heavily to an ICAPB side on a good run of form at the moment. The hosts went into the game off the back of a 9-1 victory against Craigmount last week, and although The Bridge managed to hold the score at 2-0 at half time in the end a poor performance from the men in tangerine saw a final score of 6-0 to ICAPB at the Jack Kane Centre.

05.10.08 Bad injury for Strevens overshadows 8 goal draw
The Jack Kane Centre hosted Fountainbridge's latest league match of the season this afternoon, but the 4-4 draw with AVL was overshadowed by a very bad injury to Bridge goalkeeper Alan Strevens. An Alexander hattrick and goal from Crawford Leslie had Fountainbridge 4-2 up when a clash between Strevens and an AVL attacker saw the player recieve a bad gash on the side of his knee. Thankfully it seems nothing was broken and everyone at the club wishes Alan a speedy recovery. |
