Fountainbridge Football Club are an Edinburgh based amateur team formed in 2007. The club compete in the Edinburgh Sunday League and are registered members of the ESAFA (Edinburgh Sunday Amateur Football Association) who are part of the SAFA(Scottish Amateur Football Association).

Fountainbridge was formed in 2007 by Laurie Dunsire, John Gray and Mark Smith. The three had been playing 5-a-side football together for some time and had all been keen to get back into competitive 11-a-side football at some level and after some initial ideas were discussed it was decided that an amateur team to compete in the Sunday leagues in Edinburgh would be formed.

Contact was made with the Edinburgh Sunday amateur Football Association and it was a quick process from initial contact to registration being sorted out and the fees paid.
The clubs first major sponsorship deal was agreed in April 2007, with Leith based company Pro Business Publications supplying the teams first home kit for their debut season in the Sunday League. The clubs first home strips were tangerine and black in a style similar to that worn by Dundee United FC.

The first match played by Fountainbridge FC took place on the 27th May 2007 at Silverknowes playing fields against Leith Persevere. Ian Hunter captained the side that lost 3-1, with Dean Clark (now of Craigroyston) scoring the first goal for the club late on.

Fountainbridge's first season in the Minto Hotel 2nd Division was a mixed one, with an eventual finish of 9th out of 12 teams a result deemed a success for a new team in it's first competitive season of football.
